Party Planning 101
Party Planning 101

A birthday party allows you to spend time celebrating with friends and family. If you are organizing a party either for yourself, or for a friend or loved one, then you will want to start planning early to make sure everything is organized and that it all runs smoothly on the big day. With so much to plan and book it can often be a little overwhelming to know where to start. This article provides a step by step guide that will help you to plan the perfect birthday party in no time at all.

The Date

The very first thing to set is the date. Make sure that you choose a date with plenty of time in advance so that you have the time to organize everything and that your guests can attend.

The Guestlist

Sit down and write all of the names of the people that you would like to invite. Be sure to include additional space for plus ones.

The Theme

Now you can plan your party theme. There is plenty of inspiration online for themed party ideas. The type of theme that you choose should depend on what type of party you are holding. Children’s birthday parties work particularly well with a theme, such as pirates or princes and princesses.

The Venue

If you have the space then you can choose to have the party in your own home. Alternatively you can hire an indoor or outdoor venue to host your party. Make sure that you choose somewhere which is large enough to be able to accommodate all of your guests.

Invitations

Now you are ready to create the invitations. Make sure that all the information required is written on the invitations, such as the time, date and address. You should ask your guests to RSVP so that you know approximately how many people will be attending.

The Food

The type of food that you serve should depend on the time of day the party is being held, the theme and the type of guests that are attending. Even if you aren’t planning a sit down dinner you should always have some snacks in place so that your guests aren’t left hungry. You can also hire caterers who can prepare, cook and serve the food for you.

Entertainment

After weeks of planning it’s time to start with entertainment. It’s time to start calling party rentals for things you’ll need such as bounce houses or water slides which are a big hit during the summer. Some entertainment ideas include live band, magicians and comedians. For kid’s birthday parties you can hire a clown, balloon artist, and actors dressed as their favorite movie characters.

Finishing Touches

A full valet service will make a lovely addition to any party. It will provide your guests with a convenient and safe way to park their vehicles, plus it will give everyone a great first impression. At 1st Class Parking Systems we provide a range of valet services to the Florida area.

Follow the above tips and you should be well on your way to planning a party to remember. Of course if all the above seems like too much hard work then you can always hire an event planner to organize it for you! Good luck.
